Inflatables is a garment line which looked into the intersections between designed clothing and designed space. Can clothing become spatial and protective at the level of architecture? Can architecture react to contemporary forces, social and environmental? In creating clothing that transformed into structures, shelter beyond the article of clothing was introduced as they became spatial. In using translucent fabric, the relationship of body as structure for clothing vs. fabric as structure for body as the articles transition from being worn to wearing was retained. For me, the line opens the door to larger issues questioning the connection of body with designed space as well as the scale in which we define architecture to be.
